INTERNET cafe chain Netopia wants to break into the retail printing business to boost revenues in the next few years, its president, Raymond Ricafort, said.
While Internet access remains its bread and butter, Netopia has announced a partnership with computer vendor Hewlett Packard (HP), as it began offering retail printing services to its customers this year.
Printing services currently contributes about 14 percent to Netopia's total annual revenues. Other revenue sources are online gaming (22 percent), Internet access (54 percent), and voice over IP Internet phone calls (3 percent), he said.
The retail printing business will complement Netopia's desktop publishing services, he added.
Over time, the Internet cafe chain also wants to make a splash in the retail digital photo printing market.
